Turing Award

The A.M. Turing award is given annually by the ACM to an individual selected for contributions of a technical nature made to the computing community. [1]

This award is named after Alan Mathison Turing, a British mathematician who frequently credited for being the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. [1]

History Of Turing Award

- First Turing Award was given in 1966.

- The only female recipient is Frances Allen of IBM

- As of 2007, this award is accompanied by prize of $250,000 and co-sponsored by Google and Intel

About Alan Turing

Alan Mathison Turing, (23 June 1912 - 7 June 1954) was an English mathematician, logician and cryptographer.
